A Testing Time

mission · Windurst

Windurst mission. Reward: none listed.

Prove your fighting ability to Moreno-Toeno by defeating enough monsters in Tahrongi Canyon within one Vana'diel day.

Before you start: Windurst citizen eligible for the Rank 2 mission A Testing Time; Accept the mission from a Windurst gate guard

Walkthrough:
1. Accept the mission from a gate guard in Windurst.
2. Talk to Moreno-Toeno inside the Aurastery in Windurst Waters and agree to take the test; you receive the Creature Counter Magic Doll.
3. Defeat at least 30 monsters in Tahrongi Canyon; 35 or more is best.
4. Wait until the last Vana'diel hour of the test day, then return to Moreno-Toeno and speak to him to be assessed.

Good to know: You must be assessed during the final hour of the 24-hour Vana'diel day timer. Arriving earlier tells you how long to wait; arriving late fails the test. If you defeat fewer than 30 monsters, the test fails and you must zone before trying again. On a repeat run, monsters in Buburimu Peninsula are counted instead, and you are given two Vana'diel days. Only monsters on the test list in that area count toward the total.
