After the Voracious Resurgence: Prime Weapons, Elijah and Runje Desaali

guide ยท Server guide

The last stretch of The Voracious Resurgence (TVR) unlocks three things that reward you long after the credits roll. This guide covers what each one does, when it opens, and how to make the most of it.

Prime Weapons: going past stage 2

Gama-Shama (in the Silver Knife, Eastern Adoulin) makes and upgrades Prime Weapons.

Stage | What you hand over | When it opens |
1 | Gallimaufry | TVR M9-4 "The Prime Weapons" done and Uran-Mafran's Orb from Oggbi (Port Bastok). Having been inside Sortie also works here. |
2 | Stage 1 weapon, Eikondrite, gallimaufry | Same as stage 1 |
3 | Stage 2 weapon, Octahedrite, Voracious Psyche, gallimaufry | The story is cleared (M11-2 "The Voracious Beast" won) |
4 | Stage 3 weapon, Hexahedrite, Voracious Psyche, gallimaufry | Same as stage 3 |
5 | Stage 4 weapon, Mesosiderite, Voracious Psyche, gallimaufry | Same as stage 3 |

Upgrade costs on this server are half the usual amount (rounded up). Trade Gama-Shama the weapon and he tells you what he still needs.

Tips:

- From M10-5 "Duke Alloces's Decision" on, you need a stage 2 or higher Prime Weapon to go on with the story, and in the final battle everyone needs one equipped. The horn (Loughnashade) and the shield (Duban) don't count. Get your stage 2 weapon early.
- If you already had a stage 3 or higher weapon before this rule came in, you can keep upgrading.

Elijah: Peculiar Foes and Voracious Psyche

Elijah stands in Upper Jeuno (G-6), next to Ajithaam. He studies strange monsters with eye-like markings, and he runs Eminence Record Quest 4, "Peculiar Foes".

Getting started. Finish TVR M4-4 "Raubahn the Blue", then talk to Elijah to take the quest. After that, set the Peculiar Foes objectives from the Records of Eminence menu. Each objective is a single Awoken monster: examine the Peculiar Footprints in that zone to make it appear.

More leads as the story goes on. The fifteen objectives open in pairs as you progress:

Objectives | Opens after | Awoken monsters |
I-III | M4-4 Raubahn the Blue | Hildesvini (Wajaom), Mokkuralfi (Mt. Zhayolm), Vampyr Jarl (Caedarva) |
IV-V | M5-5 The Sea Sage | Gorgimera (Beaucedine), Ariri Samariri (Palborough) |
VI-VII | M6-3 Dance of the Tengu | Hrungnir (Aydeewa), Morbol Emperor (Arrapago) |
VIII-IX | M7-4 Altennia Burns Bright | Stoorworm (Reisenjima), Dendainsonne (W. Altepa) |
X-XI | M8-3 Delkfutt the Great | Freke (Batallia), Tanngrisnir (Qufim) |
XII-XIII | M9-4 The Prime Weapons | Nihhus (Kamihr Drifts F-8), Hakenmann (Rala Waterways) |
XIV-XV | M10-6 Odin's Eye | Andhrimnir (Newton Movalpolos), the Hrani trio (Xarcabard) |

Talk to Elijah any time and he tells you how many of the fifteen you can hunt right now.

Getting to the two M9-4 foes:

- Awoken Nihhus: from Ra'Kaznar Inner Court, take the waypoint toward Outer Ra'Kaznar, step out into Kamihr Drifts and ride along the right-hand wall from Frontier Bivouac #4 to F-8.
- Awoken Hakenmann: from Eastern Adoulin, head west into Rala Waterways and follow the left-hand wall to the far end.

Voracious Psyche. Once you have cleared the story and beaten every Peculiar Foe at least once, Elijah starts paying you in Voracious Psyche, which you need for stages 3-5. You get one for every three objectives you complete in a month, and up to five a month. Each objective can be completed once a month, so clearing all fifteen every month gets you the full five. Talk to Elijah after a hunting run to collect.

Runje Desaali: the Esthete's set and Wildskeeper trade-ins

Runje Desaali is in Eastern Adoulin (J-10).

Wildskeeper gear trade-in. Trade her one piece of Ex weapon or armor from the Wildskeeper Reives (the "seven princes" gear, such as Hatxiik, Otomi Helm or Ukux'kaj Boots) and she pays bayld on the spot: 4,000 for item level 106 pieces and 6,000 for item level 115 pieces. There's no confirmation step, so be sure before you trade.

Geosuke's Recommendations. In M9-3 "Skokkr Undrborn's Temptation", Gama-Shama sends you to her for a staff disguise. Talk to her first, then trade one Wildskeeper piece. If you trade before talking, it's just a normal trade-in. After that she sells the Esthete's Masque, Coat and Hose for 30,000 bayld each. They're Rare, so each one drops off her list while you own it. After the mission you can still buy any piece you're missing.

For the mission you need to wear all three pieces when you talk to Zemerine. Lockstyle doesn't count here yet.

Things that work a little differently here

- Elijah's and Runje's lines show up as plain text rather than full cutscenes.
- Peculiar Foes needs Elijah's quest and the matching story progress. If the footprints stay quiet, talk to Elijah.
- The Psyche count uses objectives done this month (Japan time), which is what keeps the cap at five.
