Trusts (Alter Egos)
guide ยท Server guide
All 122 Trusts are on Vanadreams. Each one has its own job, spells, abilities and weapon skills, and fights in its own style. For making your Trusts stronger, see Alter Ego Points.
The basics
- Start with your nation's Trust quest: Gondebaud (Southern San d'Oria), Clarion Star (Port Bastok) or Wetata (Windurst Woods). It gives you a Trust permit and your first Trusts.
- To learn a cipher, trade it to Gondebaud, Clarion Star or Wetata.
- Up to 3 Trusts at once, 4 with Rhapsody in White (Rhapsodies 1-5), 5 with Rhapsody in Crimson (Rhapsodies 2-13).
- Only the party leader can call Trusts, and only when no monster has enmity on them. You can't call Trusts while seeking a party, or for 2 minutes after someone joins your party.
- Alliances: parties with Trusts out can join up into an alliance, and a party leader in an alliance can call Trusts. Each leader's Trusts stay in that leader's own party. See Alliances with Trusts.
- You can't call the same Trust twice, or both versions of one (for example Shantotto and Shantotto II) at once.
- Allowed: most field and dungeon areas, missions and quests, Abyssea, Dynamis and Dynamis [D], Omen, Odyssey, Ambuscade, Voidwatch, Walk of Echoes, Vagary, Skirmish, Domain Invasion, Reives and Limbus. Limbus allows at most 3, whatever your Rhapsodies.
- Not allowed: cities, Assault, Salvage, Nyzul Isle, Sortie, Einherjar, and battlefields that don't permit them.
- At level 99 your Trusts match your average item level (up to 119).

What each Trust does
Healers
- Ygnas: WHM. Heals at range with strong Cures, and uses Phototrophic Blessing when 3+ party members are hurt. Keeps Protect, Shell and Haste on everyone and removes ailments.
- Pieuje (UC): WHM. Cures at 75%, removes ailments (party Esuna under Afflatus Misery), and keeps Protectra, Shellra, Auspice and Haste up. Stronger with Unity rank.
- Yoran-Oran (UC): WHM with a large MP pool. Uses Nott to restore MP. Stronger with Unity rank.
- Cherukiki: WHM. Cures, Protects and Shells. Enfeebles and Hastes while above half MP, and casts Meteor alongside Makki and Kukki.
- Karaha-Baruha: WHM/SMN. Cures at 75%, Hastes melee, and uses Spirit Taker when low on MP. Saves TP to close skillchains.
- Nashmeira II: Single Cures, and Curaga only when 3+ members are at 75% or lower.
- Ingrid: Battle white mage. Hastes melee jobs, uses her highest Banish, Cursnas curses, and is strong against undead.
Tanks
- Invincible Shield (UC): Great axe tank. Provokes constantly and takes 20% less damage. Uses Retaliation, Warcry, Blood Rage and Restraint.
- Halver: Berserk polearm attacker who switches to tanking (Sentinel, Rampart, Provoke, Flash, Cure) when someone drops to 40% HP or is put to sleep.
Support
- Arciela: Alternates light mode (Haste, Refresh, Protect, Shell on you and herself) with dark mode (Slow, Paralyze, Dispel, Addle). Guiding Light buffs the party; Illustrious Aid heals it.
- Arciela II: Switches modes every 90 seconds and buffs by job: Haste for melee, Refresh for casters and tanks. Enfeebles in dark mode, magic bursts, and fully recovers once with Naakual's Vengeance.
- King of Hearts: Red mage support. Keeps Dia up, strips enemy buffs with Shuffle, Hastes and Refreshes you, gives Phalanx II to the tank, cures at 50%, and magic bursts Firaga IV from level 92.
- Qultada: Always keeps Chaos Roll up. Her second roll, in priority order: Corsair's Roll when you have an experience or capacity bonus up (Dedication, Commitment, Kupofried), Evoker's Roll when anyone in the party is at 66% MP or less, Hunter's Roll when you are struggling to hit, otherwise Fighter's Roll. She switches the second roll as soon as the situation changes, Double-Ups toward the lucky number or 11, and uses Snake Eye when one more pip would land it.
- Ulmia: Bard. Sings two Marches (Victory and Advancing). She only switches to two Ballads when you have MP yourself and drop to half of it. She never cuts her two songs short to change them. Sentinel's Scherzo when you drop below half HP.
- Joachim: Bard/white mage. Accuracy first: Blade Madrigal is always one of his songs. With Ulmia in the party he ad [cut off]
