Sortie: getting a +2 job earring

guide · Server guide

Sortie's job earrings (Boii, Bhikku, Ebers, Wicce, Lethargy and the rest) come out of Old Cases. A case holds a ??? Earring for a random job, and using the ??? Earring turns it into that job's earring with its stats already rolled.
6 sets: - Boii: Boii Mask · Boii Lorica · Boii Mufflers · Boii Cuisses · Boii Calligae
- Bhikku: Bhikku Crown · Bhikku Cyclas · Bhikku Gloves · Bhikku Hose · Bhikku Gaiters
- Ebers: Ebers Cap · Ebers Bliaut · Ebers Mitts · Ebers Pantaloons · Ebers Duckbills
- Wicce: Wicce Petasos · Wicce Coat · Wicce Gloves · Wicce Chausses · Wicce Sabots
- Lethargy: Lethargy Chappel · Lethargy Sayon · Leth. Gantherots · Leth. Fuseau · Leth. Houseaux
- the rest

Which case gives which earring

Case | Opens into |
Old Case | ??? Earring, sometimes ??? Earring +1 |
Old Case +1 | ??? Earring +1, sometimes ??? Earring +2 |
Old Case +2 | ??? Earring +2, every time |

There is no way to upgrade an earring you already have. A +2 earring comes from an Old Case +2, or from a lucky Old Case +1.

Old Case +2: Subjugate: Aminon

- Take the Records of Eminence objective Subjugate: Aminon (it sits with the other Sortie boss objectives).
- In Sortie, collect the four Ra'Kaznar Fragments (#1 to #4) from the basement bosses.
- Use the Diaphanous Gadget west of the Flan room in sector E to call Aminon, and defeat it.
- The objective completes and gives the Old Case +2, along with 1,000 sparks, 5,000 EXP and 100 accolades.

This works once per character. Keep a free inventory slot: with your bags full the objective waits until you have room and win again.

Old Case and Old Case +1

- Chests, caskets, coffers and bosses in Sortie drop both. Basement containers and bosses give them more often.
- Aminon always drops an Old Case +1 (and a Ra'Kaz. Starstone).
- Ruspix in Leafallia (H-8) sells the Old Case for 80,000 gallimaufry.

Tips

- The case picks the job at random, not by your job. Trade spare earrings to your other characters on the same account.
- Open the case and the ??? Earring with a free inventory slot.
