Relic, Mythic and Empyrean weapons: 99 to 119 III
guide ยท Server guide
Once your Relic, Mythic or Empyrean weapon reaches level 99, Oboro in Port Jeuno (E-6) takes it the rest of the way.
Before you start
- Oboro only works for proven fighters: you need to have beaten a Delve boss in Cirdas Caverns [U] or Yorcia Weald [U], or cleared a high-tier mission or avatar battlefield on Normal or harder.
- Each family of weapon has its own stone:
- Relic: Pluton
- Mythic and Ergon: Beitetsu
- Empyrean: Riftborn Boulder
- Where to get the stones:
- Delve field NMs: everyone in the alliance gets a stone, sometimes a case.
- Delve fractures: every NM gives everyone a stone, sometimes a case. The boss gives everyone a case, sometimes a box.
- Wildskeeper Reives: every participant gets a case, sometimes a box.
- Lair Reives: a stone for everyone. Colonization Reives: sometimes a stone.
- Forri-Porri in Western Adoulin: 10 stones for 2,500 Mweya Plasm.
- High-tier mission battlefields, Unity Wanted coffers, the Gobbie Mystery Box, and the Mog Bonanza coffers (99 stones each).
- A case holds 3 to 15 stones and a box holds 15 to 30.
Step 1: 99 to 119
Trade Oboro your level 99 weapon with 150 of its stone. Come back after the next Vana'diel midnight to collect the level 119 version.
If you trade the 99 II (afterglow) version instead, you get the 119 II back. That makes the last step almost free.
Getting the afterglow (99 II) first
The Magian Moogle (orange) in Port Jeuno has an afterglow trial for every level 99 weapon:
- Relics and Mythics: trade 250 Vials of Umbral Marrow.
- Empyreans: trade 3,000 Riftdross or Riftcinder, depending on the weapon.
Step 2: 119 to 119 III (the final reforge)
You need the key item Scintillating Rhapsody, from finishing the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel story.
- Trade Oboro the 119 weapon on its own.
- Hand over its stones, in as many trades as you need:
- 119: 5,000 stones
- 119 II: just 1 stone
- Talk to him at any time to see how many you've paid.
- When it's paid in full, come back after the next Vana'diel midnight for your 119 III weapon.
Stones you hand over are spent even if you never finish. He works on one weapon at a time.
Ergon weapons (Epeolatry, Idris) reforge the same way with Beitetsu.
