Quest and mission scene fixes (October 2026)

Dozens of quests now play their real cutscenes and menus instead of placeholder dialog. Most play exactly as before, just with the proper scene. The steps below changed in ways a player will notice.

Adoulin

- Do Not Go Into the Light: deliver the Inventors' Coalition pickaxe by examining the hospital door in Western Adoulin. Alianne and Othellius tell you Logan has taken a turn for the worse, and Othellius keeps the pickaxe for him.
- Hypocritical Oath: starts at the door of Svenja's Manor (I-8) the Vana'diel day after Do Not Go Into the Light. Alianne and Othellius argue over Logan's remedy, then send you to Maester Margret (Wegellion, back of the Scouts' Coalition, Eastern Adoulin). Checking the manor door again repeats Alianne's request. Trade a Frost Turnip and a Vial of Slime Oil to Wegellion, then return to the manor door.
- Epiphany (Rune Fencer empyrean): Octavernost hands out iridal cores through his own menu. Pick King Ranperre's Tomb, Fei'Yin or Ranguemont Pass. After the quest, his menu can also send you straight to the Hazy Rune of the core you hold. You can swap a held core for another at any time; a new core when you hold none is once per conquest tally.
- Raptor Rapture and Scaredy Cats: answer "Might as well." to accept.
- Survey: Yahse Hunting Grounds (Coalition survey): examining an Ergon Locus plays its survey scene.
- In Yahse Hunting Grounds, Foret de Hennetiel, Yorcia Weald, Morimar Basalt Fields, Marjami Ravine, Kamihr Drifts and Maquette Abdhaljs, monsters and NPCs now carry their proper names and play their own scenes when you talk to them.

Wings of the Goddess

- Champion of the Dawn / The Dawn Also Rises: Cait Sith's wish menu offers the Nesanica belt, ring and torque, 10,000 gil, or the pact with Cait Sith. Rewards you already hold are hidden from the menu.
- Beast from the East: the quest starts only when you answer "Immensely, yes."
- Son and Father: if Landeric turns down the Bronze Sword, trade it to him again.

Treasures of Aht Urhgan and Abyssea

- Promotion: Captain: talk to Abquhbah in Salaheem's Sentinels. He shows you the massage, then Naja wants thirty good rubs; a wrong one starts the count over.
- An Imperial Heist (Mythic weapons): Naja offers it when you walk into Salaheem's Sentinels (or talk to her). Ask Abquhbah for the weapon list, hand him the Vigil weapon of your job, hear Naja's briefing, and return once you hold the needed titles. Trading Abquhbah a different weapon while one is held abandons the first one: it is gone.
- The Voracious Resurgence 4-3 to 5-5 (Whitegate steps): Naja, Abquhbah, Raubahn, Ghatsad, Abda-Lurabda and Tateeya now play their full scenes, with reminders when you talk to them again. If your bag is full when a reward is handed out, talk to the same person again to collect it.
- Five Seconds of Fame: the film is kept only when a shot was actually recorded.
- Abyssea side quests (Bad Communication, Missing in Action, Smoke over the Coast, Soil and Green, His Box His Beloved, Sisters in Crime, Dropping the Bomb and others) now play their real scenes. Offers are accepted only by picking the accepting answer. In Missing in Action, the three camp leaders (Fariel, Mathurin, Quasim) each play a scene when they take the linkpearl. In Unidentified Research Object, a plain Apple Pie also works.

Rhapsodies and Voracious Resurgence missions

- The Voracious Resurgence 3-5 (Of Knights and Orcs): at the Point of Interest, answer "Yes." to "Climb the cliff?". The scene atop the cliff plays before the fight and the aftermath plays after it.
- Rhapsodies 3-13 (Become Something More): the Sanctorium scene with your dark double plays on zone-in.

Other

- Ponono (Windurst Woods): a new cutting costs 100,000 gil and is ready after the next midnight. "I've had enough" cancels.
- Odin's gate (Odin's Chamber) and Allied checkpoint guards (Jugner Forest [S]) play their proper scenes.
