Rare NM drops: better odds on the rare piece

Monsters that drop one of two items

Many notorious monsters drop one item from a pair: a common piece and a rarer one (for example, Behemoth drops Thundercloud or Comet Tail). On Vanadreams, each time that drop happens you get the common piece 60%, the rare piece 30%, and nothing 10% of the time.

Some monsters always give one of the two, with no empty result. They are marked in the table with their own odds.

Treasure Hunter and the server drop rate don't change which of the two you get.

Monsters that drop one of three or more items

When a drop picks one item from a longer list (ores, logs, scrolls, abjurations, Abyssea materials), the odds are evened out. The rarest items in each list gain the most, and the most common ones still drop the most often.

Gration's Tatami Shield

Gration (Misareaux Coast) drops a Tatami Shield 24% of the time, up from 15%. If it was spawned with a Picaroon's Shield, the Tatami Shield always drops.
