Shades of the Lost: playing as a Fomor
guide ยท Server guide
What it is: earn the right to turn your whole character into a Fomor, the shadowy wanderers of Phomiuna Aqueducts, the Sacrarium and the Lufaise coast. Everyone around you sees a Fomor, not just a Fomor face.
Start: talk to the Stylist Moogle at the bazaar hangout (!hangout) and pick A whole Fomor body. She needs a Swift Belt to cut your guise from.
Getting the Swift Belt:
- Defeat Fomors in Lufaise Meadows, Misareaux Coast, Phomiuna Aqueducts or the Sacrarium. Each Fomor makes the Fomors hate you more; other monsters there calm them down again. Resauchamet in Tavnazian Safehold tells you how much they hate you.
- Get a Fomor Codex. The tauri in Phomiuna Aqueducts and the Sacrarium drop it.
- When the Fomors hate you enough (the Stale Draft says to leave as quickly as possible), trade the Fomor Codex to the Stale Draft for your race in the Sacrarium. Your race's Fomor NM appears: Balor (Hume), Luaith (Elvaan), Lobais (Tarutaru), Caithleann (Mithra) or Indich (Galka).
- Defeat it. It drops the Swift Belt.
Finish: trade the Swift Belt to the Stylist Moogle. You keep the guises for good.
Rewards: the Fomor face, and every whole Fomor body: Warrior, Monk, Summoner, Black Mage, Red Mage, Thief, Paladin, Dark Knight, Beastmaster, Bard, Ranger, Samurai, Ninja, Dragoon (several with a second Lufaise version), the Sacrarium's Balor, Luaith and Lobais, and the Fomors of Wajaom Woodlands and Bhaflau Thickets. The look doesn't have to match your job or race.
Good to know:
- The Fomor body stays on when you change gear, zone or log out. Your gear still works, it just doesn't show.
- You can still talk to NPCs as a Fomor.
- A costume item goes on over it; when the costume wears off you're a Fomor again.
- Your character select screen still shows your normal character.
- Back to normal: Stylist Moogle, My own body back, or pick any face.
