Fancychat (chat window addon)

guide ยท Server guide

Fancychat replaces the game's chat box with its own window that you can theme and resize.

Getting it: open the launcher, go to the Addons page, tick Fancychat, then start the game. It's off until you tick it.

What you get

- Tabs: All, Combat, Linkshell, Party, Tell, Shout and Custom. VanaNews lines show in Linkshell, and tells (MiniFerrin's answers included) show in Tell.
- A compact combat log with icons, coloured names, and timestamps.
- The chat fades when nothing is happening and comes back on new messages.
- Hover an item, ability or spell for its description. Click a line to copy it, Shift+click to save it to the notepad, and Ctrl+click a zone name for that zone's maps and wiki links.
- Sounds for incoming tells, combat filters, and gamepad navigation (hold LB).

Commands: /fchat settings to set it up, /fchat manual for the full in-game guide, /fchat bigmode for a full-screen history, /fchat savelogs to save your chat to disk.

Good to know: SimpleLog and the timestamp addon switch themselves off while Fancychat is ticked, because they rewrite the same chat lines. Fancychat is made by Arielfy (ariel-logos on GitHub).
