Escutcheons (Craft Guild Shields)
guide · Server guide
Every craft has its own guild shield, upgraded through five stages: Aspis → Ecu → Scutum → Shield → Escutcheon. Each stage gives more crafting bonuses for that craft.
Getting started
- Reach Expert rank in a craft, then talk to Mewk Chorosap in Port Jeuno (G-8). He gives you that craft's Aspis.
- Show the Aspis to your craft's guild master to start the line.
- Equip the shield and synthesize in its craft to fill its spirit. A full shield is ready for the next stage.
The stages
- Aspis → Ecu: fill the Aspis, then synthesize the Ecu with materials from your craft's set NPC.
- Ecu: show it to the guild master, then to Mewk, then to the guild master again. This opens your craft's Guild Master's Requests and gives you a Titanium Frame for the Scutum.
- Scutum → Shield: the guild master sets a Chromoly Plate task. Synthesize the Shield and earn the craft's Argentum Tome.
- Shield → Escutcheon: trade a Crystal of Effort to Mewk to learn Reassembling Technique, store your spirit in the crystal, and collect the Guild Plate from Mewk and the guild master. Then synthesize the Escutcheon.
- Escutcheon: show it to Mewk and the guild master for the Aurum Tome and your craft's Legendary title.
Lost a shield? The guild master can replace it.

Guild Master's Requests
Once your Ecu opens them, each craft has four Guild Master's Requests in the Records of Eminence menu. Each one asks for a specific synthesis. Finish all four and the guild master gives you the Titanium Frame. Working on a request also fills your equipped shield.
