Sea: the Jailers and Absolute Virtue

guide ยท Server guide

Where: Al'Taieu, the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi and The Garden of Ru'Hmet.

How: kill three Jailers and three Ix'aern in the palace and the garden for their Virtues and Deeds, add a high-quality organ from Al'Taieu, and pop the three Al'Taieu Jailers. Their Virtues call the Jailer of Love, and Absolute Virtue follows when Love falls.

Getting in

- Al'Taieu: Chains of Promathia up to and through The Warrior's Path. After it, Sueleen in Sealion's Den sends you up whenever you ask. The Auroral Updrafts in Al'Taieu take you back down. Al'Taieu has three home points.
- Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi: opened during Garden of Antiquity. Kill the three Ru'aern that each Rubious Crystal calls, then the gate to the palace lets you through. Once the mission is done the gate always opens for you.
- The Garden of Ru'Hmet: through the Gate of the Gods at the far end of the palace.
- Party: no limit. Bring an alliance for Love and Absolute Virtue.
- Time and lockouts: none in the open areas. Absolute Virtue leaves two hours after Jailer of Love appears.
- Trusts: allowed in all three areas, up to the usual six per party. In an alliance each party leader calls trusts for their own party.
- Respawns: a ??? is ready again a moment after its NM despawns, and every placeholder kill pops its NM.

Pops

The Al'Taieu Jailers

Trade all three items to the Jailer's ???. They are used up.

Jailer | Trade | ??? |
Jailer of Hope | First Virtue, Deed of Placidity, H.Q. Phuabo Organ | D-9 |
Jailer of Justice | Second Virtue, Deed of Moderation, H.Q. Xzomit Organ | F-11 |
Jailer of Prudence | Third Virtue, Deed of Sensibility, H.Q. Hpemde Organ | L-8 |
Jailer of Love | Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Virtue, nothing else | K-12 |

Absolute Virtue needs no trade. Ten seconds after Jailer of Love dies, Absolute Virtue rises where Love fell, claimed to whoever held the most hate.

Palace and garden

- Jailer of Temperance: kill the Eozdei that stand still (not the patrolling ones) on Hu'Xzoi's first map, such as the one at J-13. The Jailer appears where one falls, claimed to its killer.
- Ix'aern (MNK): trade H.Q. Aern Organs to the ??? in Hu'Xzoi (Map 2, G-7 or I-7; it swaps between the two after each fight). The more organs, the better the odds of a drop and the more helpers come with it:

Organs | Chance of a drop | Comes with |
1 | 33% | nothing |
2 | 66% | Qn'aern (RDM) |
3 | 100% | Qn'aern (RDM) and Qn'aern (WHM) |

The drop is usually the Deed of Placidity, sometimes a Vice of Antipathy.

- Jailer of Fortitude: trade 12 Ghrah M Chips to its ???. The ??? sits at one of the five tower spots in Ru'Hmet and moves after each fight. Fortitude comes with Kf'ghrah (WHM) and Kf'ghrah (BLM).
- Jailer of Faith: trade one H.Q. Euvhi Organ to its ???. It sits at one of five spots in Ru'Hmet's second map (it starts at F-11) and moves after each fight and from time to time on its own.
- Ix'aern (DRK): kill the Aw'aern beside its ??? (near Map 1 F-12; the ??? moves among four spots). Sometimes a kill brings a message of sheer animosity. Click the ??? within ten minutes and Ix'aern (DRK) appears with two Qn'aern (RNG). Each kill usually drops the Deed of Moderation, sometimes a Vice of Avarice.
- Ix'aern (DRG): one Aw'aern in the four groups of the Ru'Hmet Aw'aern room is its hidden placeholder. Kill the groups; when that one falls, Ix'aern (DRG) appears unclaimed at a corner of the room. It drops the Deed of Sensibility or a Vice of Aspersion.

Farming the pop items

Item | Comes from |
H.Q. Phuabo Organ | Ul'phuabo (rare) and Om'phuabo (very rare) in Al'Taieu |
H.Q. Xzomit Organ | Om'xzomit and Ul'xzomit in Al'Taieu |
H.Q. Hpemde Organ | Om'hpemde and Ul'hpemde in Al'Taieu |
H.Q. Euvhi Organ | Aw'euvhi in Al'Taieu and Ru'Hmet (rare) |
H.Q. Aern Organ | the Aern inside Hu'Xzoi (rare) |
Ghrah M Chip | Aw'ghrah in Ru'Hmet (very rare; you need 12) |

The Ul'xzomit, Ul'hpemde and Ul'phuabo gather around the south of Al'Taieu (F-12 to J-13). The Om' kinds roam the north and the edges.

Faster: the Login Moogle sells every Virtue, all three Deeds, every H.Q. organ above and the Ghrah M Chip for 500 points each on its Pop items page. The Clan Provisioner sells the same for 1,000 clan points each. Buying the six Virtues skips straight to the Al'Taieu Jailers, and buying Fourth, Fifth and Sixth skips straight to Love.

Strategy

Palace and garden

- Jailer of Temperance (25,000 HP): magic doesn't hurt it. It changes form every so often: as a pot only hand-to-hand and blunt weapons hurt it, as poles only piercing, as rings only slashing. Bring a mix of weapons and swap attackers with each form. At 65 to 70% and 35 to 40% HP it uses Meikyo Shisui and six moves back to back.
- Ix'aern (MNK) (13,000 HP): when any of the three drops below 60%, all of them use Hundred Fists and hit much harder. Kill the Qn'aern (WHM) first (it uses Benediction), then the RDM, then the Ix'aern. The helpers vanish when the Ix'aern dies.
- Jailer of Fortitude (25,000 HP): takes almost nothing from physical attacks and half from ranged. Magic is the way in, but while either Kf'ghrah lives, every spell that lands on Fortitude is cast back at the caster. Kill both Kf'ghrah first (9,000 HP each), then nuke Fortitude. Below 50% it turns invincible every 150 seconds; wait it out. The Kf'ghrah change shape together every 45 seconds: as balls they only cast, as spiders and birds they melee.
- Jailer of Faith (25,000 HP): its flower opens and closes. Closed (one minute) it hits twice as hard and takes less damage; open (three minutes) it takes more. Save weapon skills and nukes for the open flower. It uses Manafont at 75, 50 and 25% and casts Quake II only then. It also casts Slowga and Breakga, and gains TP from its own nukes.
- Ix'aern (DRK) (21,000 HP): kill both Qn'aern (RNG) first. When the Ix'aern dies it may reraise at full HP nine seconds later: 90% with both Qn'aern alive, 60% with one, 30% with none. It casts the Absorb spells and uses Blood Weapon early.
- Ix'aern (DRG) (15,000 HP): calls three Wynavs 20 seconds into the fight, and each Wynav breathes whenever the Ix'aern readies a move. A dead Wynav comes back 10 seconds later. Its bracelets come on for 30 seconds in every 80: more attack, accuracy and speed. The Wynavs sing (Lullaby, Requiem, Elegy) and use Soul Voice; sleep or kite them and burn the Ix'aern.

Al'Taieu Jailers

- Jailer of Hope (29,200 HP): can't be stunned or slept. Its melee stuns often. It uses Mighty Strikes near the start and every 90 seconds after. Aerial Collision, Spine Lash and Tidal Dive often come twice in a row. After Plasma Charge it nukes lightning for a minute. Shadows and a high-HP tank.
- Jailer of Justice (37,000 HP): calls a Qn'xzomit every 30 seconds, up to six, and charms someone every 150 seconds. At 50% it uses Familiar on its pets. The Qn'xzomit use Mijin Gakure at 20% HP: kill them fast or keep them away from the healers. Bring someone to sleep or kite the adds and burn the Jailer.
- Jailer of Prudence (20,000 HP each, two of them): whenever one uses a weapon skill, the other copies it. Both use Perfect Dodge together at 95% and every two minutes after, and during it one can blink straight to its new target. Only the second one to die drops anything. When the first falls, the survivor triple attacks every swing and its attack doubles. Bring both low together and finish them close together.
- Jailer of Love (57,000 HP): p [cut off]
