Limbus: Temenos and Apollyon
guide ยท Server guide
Where: Temenos and Apollyon, both reached from Al'Taieu.
How: clear floors for data and units, open the coffer at the end of each tower or section, and spend the units at the Furnace to take Relic (Temenos) or Artifact (Apollyon) armour to +4. Every four weeks the whole server's progress brings out the bosses: three groups and a final boss in each area.
Getting in
- Story: the key item Scintillating Rhapsody (from The Orb's Radiance, Rhapsodies of Vana'diel), and Chains of Promathia Garden of Antiquity current or done.
- Card: the White Card for Temenos, the Black Card for Apollyon. Both drop from Aw'euvhi in Al'Taieu:
- White Card: the Aw'euvhi at J-6, G-5 and I-4.
- Black Card: the Aw'euvhi at J-6, K-8 and K-10.
- Temenos: walk through the zone line at the north end of Al'Taieu. Without the story or the card you are sent back out after a few seconds.
- Apollyon: touch either Swirling Vortex in Al'Taieu. One takes you to Apollyon's west entrance, the other to its east entrance.
- Party: from solo to a full alliance. No entry fee, no time limit, no lockout.
- Trusts: allowed, up to three per party. In an alliance each party leader calls trusts for their own party. A kill by your trust or pet counts as yours.
First visit: talk to the Operator at the entrance to register your card. The Operator's menu:
- Set monster level: 119, 123, 127, 131 or 135. Ordinary monsters take on the level of the first player they notice, up to that setting. A higher setting and a bigger party raise both the kills a floor needs and the units it pays.
- Check progress: where the server stands toward the next boss phase.
- Opening of Central Tower B1 (Temenos) or CN (Apollyon): the boss floor, offered while a boss is up.
- Graces.
Ordinary monsters in Limbus take half damage from everything. Notorious monsters, bosses and mannequins don't.
Units and caps
Each area has its own currency: Temenos units and Apollyon units.
- Weekly cap: 140,000 units per area. It resets at the conquest tally.
- Holding cap: 60,000 units, plus 6,000 for every coffer you have ever opened in that area.
The route
Temenos
Use the Matter Diffusion Module at the entrance to pick a tower and floor. Each floor has its own Module that moves you within its tower.
Section | Floors | Monsters |
North Tower | F1 to F4 | Orcs, Quadav, Yagudo, Goblins, Moblins, Meeble, Dolls, Evil Weapons, Bombs |
West Tower | F1 to F4 | Tonberries, Sahagin, Antica, Magic Pots, Golems, Gigas, Snolls |
East Tower | F1 to F4 | Euvhi, Aern, Ghrah, Meeble, Gigas, Goblins, Pixies, Unseelie, Djinn |
Central Tower | F1 to F3 | big mixed rooms |
Apollyon
Pick a section at the gates by the entrance.
Section | Floors | Monsters |
NW | #1 to #5 | undead and amorphs: Wights, Ghosts, Corses, Skeletons, Hounds, Hecteyes, Slimes, Leeches, Slugs |
SW | #1 to #4 | Demons and their elementals, Ahriman, Imps, Tauri, Gargouilles |
NE | #1 to #5 | vermin |
SE | #1 to #4 | lizards, Shadow Dragons and Wyverns |
How a floor works
- Kill monsters on the floor. Each kill gives one data to every registered, living member of your alliance in the area.
- When the floor's gauge is full (5 to 8 kills, depending on the floor, your monster level and your party size) you get that floor's data item and the floor's units.
Floors | Units per floor |
Temenos towers | 120 to 440 |
Temenos Central | 240 to 880 |
Apollyon NW and NE | 168 to 616 |
Apollyon SW and SE | 216 to 792 |
- Clearing a floor again while you hold its item pays half the units.
- Monsters ten or more levels below your setting give no data. The elementals that come with other monsters give none.
- Ordinary monsters return a minute after they fall.
- Data items are temporary. They vanish when you leave the area, so a coffer run is done in one visit.
- Once you hold a section's last floor item, its Module or gate offers a warp to that section's coffer.
Coffers
There is a coffer at the end of each Temenos tower (North, West, East, Central) and each Apollyon section (NW, SW, NE, SE).
Open one with any of these:
- every data item of the area, from every floor
- the area's Code (Temenos Code or Apollyon Code)
- 300 Unique Data
Each coffer gives:
- 6,000 units. One of the four coffers is your lucky coffer for the week and gives 10,000 plus a random shard. It changes every week.
- On your first coffer in an area: that area's Verification Key, needed for the Furnace.
- On your second: that area's Grace (Delineated for Temenos, Angelic for Apollyon). With both, you also get Vital Grace.
- Matter for the earrings, rings and mantles: guaranteed from your first coffer in the area, then more likely the more mannequins the server killed the period before.
- More, the further the server got last period (the coffer's colour shows it):
Colour | Last period the server... | Adds |
Blue | killed a mannequin | nothing extra |
Brown | beat the first boss group | your race's shard |
Red | beat the second boss group | a Part I to IV |
Gold | beat the Forerunner | a one in three chance of a Core |
Black | beat the final Echoes or Shades | a Mass of Material |
A blue or better coffer opened with Unique Data also gives job points and exemplar points when the server killed five or more mannequins last period.
Graces work only inside Temenos and Apollyon and grow with every 100 coffers the server opens, up to tier 10. Each tier gives: Delineated +3 accuracy, ranged accuracy and magic accuracy; Angelic +2 to every attribute; Vital +30 HP and less experience lost when you are KO'd.
Mannequins and the ???
- Mannequins wear Relic names in Temenos (Agoge, Ankusa and the rest) and Artifact names in Apollyon (Pummelers and the rest). Each game hour another may appear where an ordinary monster stands, up to two at once. Each one can be killed once per four-week period. A kill gives 6,000 units to every registered, living alliance member in the area.
- The wandering ??? sometimes appears for ten minutes where an ordinary monster stands. Examine it for 6,000 units once per appearance, and the area's Code once per week.
- Unique Data: every hit on a mannequin or a boss gives one Unique Data per 1,000 damage (at least one per hit) to the attacker and every alliance member within 30 yalms. You can hold 3,000 per area, ten coffers' worth.
The bosses
The bosses come out when the server as a whole has done enough in the current four-week period. Check progress at the Operator.
Area | Phase | Bosses | Needs (this period, server-wide) |
Temenos | 1 | Agrios Aern, Agrios Alicorn, Agrios Ixion | 50 coffers, 5 mannequins, 50 Aern/Euvhi/Ghrah kills, 100 Pixie/Unseelie/elemental kills |
Temenos | 2 | Pallikari Ironclad, Pallikari Khrysokhimaira, Pallikari Mammet | 150 coffers, 13 mannequins, one ??? sighting, 300 Arcana kills |
Temenos | 3 | Ultima Forerunner | 250 coffers, all 22 mannequins, two ??? sightings, 1,000 kills |
Apollyon | 1 | Ischyros Adamantoise, Ischyros Mantis, Ischyros Sandworm | 50 coffers, 5 mannequins, 50 each of vermin, lizard and amorph kills |
Apollyon | 2 | Tolimi Dvergr, Tolimi Vampyr, Tolimi Wyrm | 150 coffers, 13 mannequins, one ??? sighting, 100 each of demon, undead and dragon kills |
Apollyon | 3 | Omega Forerunner | as Ultima Forerunner |
Thirty minutes after the Forerunner falls, the five race bosses appear: the Temenos Echoes or the Apollyon Shades.
- The bosses wait in Central Tower B1 (Temenos) or CN (Apollyon). The entrance Module or gate offers the trip while one is up.
- Anyone can hit them. Nobody claims them, their HP never recovers and they stay until killed, so the whole server can chip away at one.
- All of them shrug off sleep and terror and use their two-hour once.
