Dynamis - Qufim run guide
guide ยท Server guide
The run through Dynamis - Qufim: four time extensions in the western beastman camps, Nightmare monsters for the pop, and Antaeus at the ??? in the northwest. The optional second half builds four Fiendish Tome II chapters into Arch Antaeus.
Getting in
- Main job level 65, and the one-time unlock: the Xarcabard cutscene, the Vial of Shrouded Sand, then 50,000 gil to Haggleblix (Beadeaux), Antiqix (Castle Oztroja) or Lootblox (Davoi) for the Prismatic Hourglass. Nothing is used up per entry.
- Qufim needs Chains of Promathia 3-5, Darkness Named, complete.
- Examine the Hieroglyphics on Qufim Island. Each player enters on their own. There is no wait between runs.
- Trusts are allowed.
- 60 minutes on entry. Time extensions add up to 60 more.
The support job choice
At the Hieroglyphics you choose to go in with your support job, or with it locked.
- Locked is the only way to get a white proc. With 3 or more granules, every proc has a 1% chance to come up white instead of its normal colour. A white proc strips the monster's two-hour ability for good and adds a guaranteed hundred piece to its drops.
- Nothing else changes. A locked run is a currency run; a boss run wants the support job.
The Somnial Threshold
The Somnial Threshold stands where you arrive, at (-19, -17, 104). Examine it to:
- Unlock your support job. Only offered while it is locked. Once unlocked it stays unlocked for the run.
- Leave Dynamis. You land back on Qufim Island at the Hieroglyphics.
The run
Positions in brackets are what the !where command shows.
You start in the middle of the zone at (-19, -17, 104). The zone has two halves:
- West and northwest: beastman camps at level 75-77, the four 10-minute time extensions, the level 78-80 Nightmares and Antaeus.
- East and southeast: the same camps at level 93-95, the 20-minute extension, and the level 95-97 Nightmares that drop the Lost NM pops.
Time extensions
Every extension is a statue NM with 1,000 HP. Each colour has several spots and only one is up at a time. Check each spot until you find it. When it dies it comes back 85 seconds later, at one of its spots.
Granule | Statue | Spots | Minutes |
Crimson | Warchief Tombstone | northwest orc camp: (-108, -20, 244), (-111, -20, 284), (-139, -20, 298) | 10 |
Azure | Adamantking Image | west quadav camps: (-190, -20, 63), (-207, -21, 127), (-215, -20, 194) | 10 |
Amber | Avatar Idol | west yagudo camps: (-187, -20, 235), (-135, -21, 212), (-232, -20, 248) | 10 |
Alabaster | Goblin Statue | northwest goblin camps, near Antaeus: (-223, -20, 336), (-195, -20, 316), (-230, -20, 358) | 10 |
Obsidian | Warchief Tombstone, Goblin Statue, Adamantking Image or Avatar Idol | any of 13 spots in the east camps: (33, -20, 223), (43, -20, 250), (66, -20, 197), (153, -20, 146), (190, -20, 122), (167, -21, 74), (125, -20, 80), (31, -20, -24), (12, -21, -48), (38, -20, -6), (87, -20, 29), (75, -20, 61), (136, -21, 18) | 20 |
- Everyone in the killer's party or alliance who is in the zone and does not already hold that colour gets the granule and the minutes when it dies.
- The statues take half damage from physical attacks and can't be silenced, slowed, slept or elegied. Nuke them.
- Three granules switch on procs (see Strategy). Get the four western ones first.
Route
- From the entrance go west and northwest into the level 75-77 camps. Kill the four 10-minute statues. That is +40 minutes and four granules.
- Clear the camp around the ??? at (-260, -20, 320), in the far northwest. A Vanguard Visionary and Vanguard Enchanter stand right beside it.
- Kill Nightmares for the Undying Juju, or bring one with you (see Pops).
- Trade the Juju to the ??? and kill Antaeus. That is the win.
- For Arch Antaeus, go east to the level 93-95 camps, kill the obsidian statue (+20 minutes), farm the level 95-97 Nightmares for the three Lost NM pops, kill the three Lost NMs, then trade the four chapters at the same ??? in the northwest.

- Every pop is Rare/Ex. One player holds all four chapters and makes the one trade.
- Treasure Hunter raises every drop chance here. Bring a thief.
- The fastest way to any pop is to buy it. Every one of these items is on the Login Moogle's Pop items page (500 login points) and on Clan Centurio's Provisioner pop shelf (1,000 clan points). See Login Campaign rewards and Clan Centurio.

Strategy
Procs and currency
- Beastmen (the Vanguards) proc by their job: weapon skills on WAR/PLD/DRK/SAM/DRG, job abilities on MNK/THF/BST/RNG/NIN, spells on WHM/BLM/RDM/BRD/SMN.
- Nightmares proc by the Vana'diel hour instead, and the weakness rotates with the coin they carry:
Nightmare | Coin | 0:00-8:00 | 8:00-16:00 | 16:00-24:00 |
Diremite, Raptor, Tiger | Tukuku Whiteshell | weapon skill | spell | job ability |
Snoll, Stirge, Weapon | Ordelle Bronzepiece | spell | job ability | weapon skill |
Gaylas, Kraken, Roc | One Byne Bill | job ability | weapon skill | spell |
- Scolopendra, Stringes, Suttung and Lost Scolopendra proc on any of the three at any hour.
- With a locked support job, any proc can come up white (1%).
- Chance on the monster you target: weapon skill 25%, job ability 20%, spell 8%. Area hits on other monsters proc far less often.
- You need 3 granules for any proc: blue (Amnesia 30 s), 4 for yellow (Terror 30 s), 5 for red (no two-hour, ever).
- Monsters above level 90 roll their coins at 1.5x. The east camps and the level 95-97 Nightmares pay better.
The camps
- Level 75-77 in the west, 93-95 in the east. Every job is here, and the pet jobs bring wyverns, avatars, hecteyes, scorpions, crows and slimes.
- Everything links. Pull one group at a time.
- Statues with blue eyes refill MP and green eyes refill HP for everyone within 30 yalms when they die. Red eyes do nothing. They come back 5 minutes later.
Antaeus
Level 85 gigas, 37,000 HP, ranger main job, true detection. Deals 1.5x damage like every Dynamis [cut off]
