Dynamis - Buburimu

guide ยท Server guide

How a Dynamis - Buburimu run goes on Vanadreams: the route, the pops, the fights and what to chase.

Getting in

- Level 65 main job, the key item Prismatic Hourglass, and Chains of Promathia 3-5 Darkness Named complete.
- Examine the Hieroglyphics in Buburimu Peninsula at (164, 0, -175).
- No wait between runs. Each player enters on their own. There is no party size check.
- Trusts are allowed, in an alliance too.
- You start with 60 minutes.

Support job: locked or not

Buburimu is a Dreamland area. At the Hieroglyphics you choose to go in with your support job or with it locked.

- Locked, you fight with your main job only.
- Locked, a monster you proc has a 1% chance of a white proc instead of the usual colour. White strips its two-hour ability for good and adds a guaranteed hundred-piece currency drop.
- The lock is checked on the player who caused the proc. A Trust's proc counts as yours.

The Somnial Threshold

The Somnial Threshold stands next to where you arrive, at (158, 1, -178). Examine it to:

- Unlock your support job. This is one way. Once it is back, it stays back for the rest of the run.
- Leave Dynamis.

Common plan: go in locked, farm currency on the way, and walk back to the Threshold to unlock before the boss.

The run

Positions in brackets are what the !where command shows.

You arrive in the south-east at (155, -1, -169). The boss ??? is far to the north-west at (-224, -22, 100). The route is a sweep across the middle of the map towards it.

- Middle of the map. Vanguard goblins level 75-77, statues level 70, and the four 10-minute time extensions. Thirteen beastmen NMs that drop relic armour live here too.
- Edges of the map. Nightmare monsters level 78-80 in the south and centre; stronger Nightmares level 94-96 on the outer edges; large Vanguard goblins level 93-95 and level 80 statues in the north-east, east and west. The 20-minute extension is out here.

Time extensions

Each colour has two or three possible spots. Only one is up at a time, picked at random.

Colour | Monster | Possible spots | Minutes |
Amber | Avatar Idol | North-west of the entrance (87, -8, -10), or south of the centre (5, -7, -87) | 10 |
Azure | Adamantking Image | North of the entrance (200, -8, 22), or (115, -8, 6) | 10 |
Alabaster | Goblin Statue | Centre (30, -16, 14), (-27, -8, -40) or (-8, -16, 70) | 10 |
Crimson | Warchief Tombstone | West of the centre (-101, -21, 68), or (-151, -23, 96) near the boss | 10 |
Obsidian | Any of the four statue types | One of eight spots, see below | 20 |

The Obsidian extension is one of these eight:

- Goblin Statue in the north-east (323, 0, 211) or (255, -11, 228)
- Adamantking Image in the east (298, 2, 27) or (360, 1, -55)
- Avatar Idol in the south-east (402, 0, -132) or (436, 0, -247)
- Warchief Tombstone in the west (-362, -25, 48) or (-297, -24, 25), close to the boss

A full set gives 120 minutes. Everyone in the killer's party or alliance who is in the zone and does not yet have that colour gets the extension, so one kill covers the alliance. A killed extension comes back 85 seconds later, possibly at another of its spots.

The time-extension statues have 1,000 HP and take half damage from physical attacks. They can't be slept, silenced or slowed. Nuke them.

Route

- Check the east. Before you leave the entrance, send one player to look at the Obsidian spots in the south-east and east. If it is there, take it first.
- Sweep north-west through the middle. Amber and Azure are north and north-west of the entrance, Alabaster in the centre, Crimson west of the centre.
- Beastmen NMs on the way, for relic armour (see Rewards).
- Obsidian. If it was not in the east, check the north-east, then the two west spots near the boss.
- Lost NMs (optional, for Fiendish Tome II pages and Tjukurrpa gear): trade their pops at the four ??? around the edges.
- Boss. Trade a Revelatory Juju at the ??? in the north-west (-224, -22, 100) for Apocalyptic Beast.

Nothing has to die first. The four dragons are optional. Their Shadescale items have no use against the Beast on this server; kill the dragons for their drops.

Killing Apocalyptic Beast wins the area: everyone gets the title and the key item Dynamis - Buburimu Sliver, one of the three slivers that open Dynamis - Tavnazia. A Dreamland win also counts for Classic players in the alliance.

Refill statues

The Tombstone, Effigy, Icon and Replica statues around the zone are refill statues. Look at the eye colour:

- Blue: kill it and everyone within 30 yalms gets full MP.
- Green: full HP.
- Red: nothing.

Two Tombstone statues stand at (-151, -23, 96) and (-161, -24, 73), on the way to the boss. A killed statue comes back after 5 minutes, possibly with a different eye colour.

Pops

Pop | ??? | Spawns | Where the pop comes from |
Revelatory Juju | North-west (-224, -22, 100) | Apocalyptic Beast | Very rare from every level 78-80 Nightmare monster |
Fiendish Tome II: Chapter 5 to Chapter 9, all five in one trade | Same ??? (-224, -22, 100) | Arch Apocalyptic Beast | Chapter 5 from Apocalyptic Beast, 6 from Lost Stihi, 7 from Lost Barong, 8 from Lost Alklha, 9 from Lost Aitvaras. Each always drops |
Nightmare Shank | East (450, 0, -82) | Lost Stihi | Rare from the level 94-96 Nightmare Bunnies, Efts and Mandragoras |
Nightmare Roast | Far south-east (446, 0, -322) | Lost Barong | Rare from the level 94-96 Nightmare Crawlers, Ravens and Uragnites |
Nightmare Loin | Far west (-566, -41, 126) | Lost Alklha | Rare from the level 94-96 Nightmare Crabs, Dhalmels and Scorpions |
Nightmare Chop | Far south-west (-358, -1, -322) | Lost Aitvaras | Very rare from every level 94-96 Nightmare monster |

Fastest way: the Clan Provisioner sells every one of these pops for 1,000 clan points each. They are Rare, so each player holds one at a time. A clan that banks points can open the boss on its first trip to the ???.

Farming them in the zone. All Nightmares respawn every 5 minutes.

- Bunnies south of the centre (1 to 26, 0, -256 to -298)
- Mandragoras south of the centre (2 to 61, 0, -158 to -180)

- Nightmare Roast: Crawlers in the north-west (-296 to -362, -40, 176 to 282), Ravens in the north-east (341 to 415, 0, 228 to 304), Uragnites in the east (421 to 424, 17, 86 to 150).
- Nightmare Loin: Crabs in the north-east (375, 15, 139), big Dhalmels in the far south-east (558 to 613, 1, -219 to -291), Scorpions in the east (492 to 517, 0, -40 to 0).
- Nightmare Chop drops from all the level 94-96 Nightmares above. Farm whichever camp is closest.

Strategy

Apocalyptic Beast

A giant dragon, level 85, 27,000 HP. Aggressive, and sees through Sneak and Invisible. Immune to Gravity. It deals the usual Dynamis 1.5x damage.

Its TP moves:

- Flame Breath, Poison Breath, Wind Breath: breath in a cone in front of it. Each does 10% of its current HP, up to 400. Poison Breath also poisons. They ignore Utsusemi.
- Body Slam: heavy physical hit on everyone around it. Takes three shadows.
- Heavy Stomp: heavy physical hit around it plus Paralysis. Takes three shadows.
- Chaos Blade: dark damage plus Curse, which halves max HP and MP for 7 minutes.
- Petro Eyes: gaze that petrifies for 7 minutes. Turn away when it starts.
- Voidsong: wipes every debuff off itself and every buff off the players around it.
- Thornsong: Spikes on itself for 30 seconds.
- Lodesong: Weight on the players around it.
