Clan Centurio: NM hunt clans

guide · Server guide

What it is: linkshells that hunt notorious monsters together. A linkshell registers as a clan with Montblanc; its members earn clan points from every kill, hunt the week's posted bills, and spend the points at the Clan Provisioner.

Where: the Rolanberry bazaar hangout (!hangout), on the east side of the street south of the bank. Montblanc and, just south of him, the Clan Provisioner.

Registering and joining

- Register a clan: wear your linkshell's pearlsack, talk to Montblanc, choose Join Clan Centurio, then Register <linkshell>. You become its first member.
- Join a clan: wear a pearl of a registered linkshell, talk to Montblanc, choose Join Clan Centurio, then Join <linkshell>.
- You join once. After that you stay in the clan whichever pearl you wear, or none.
- One clan per character.
- Leave: choose Leave the clan and confirm. Your own record stays with you; your rank reward progress starts again.

Montblanc's menu

- This week's bills: the posted marks. Pick one to see its area, level range and drops. Elite bills say "(elite)"; bills your clan has already turned in this week say "- done".
- My clan: rank, members, the clan's points and hunts (all-time and this week), your own points and hunts, and what the next rank needs.
- Standings: the top 5 clans this week and the top 5 of all time. Only clans with 2 or more members are listed.
- Rank reward: collect the gil your clan's rank has earned you.

Clan points

Every kill you get credit for earns points for your clan, not just marks. Credit is the usual kind: alive and within 100 yalms when it dies, and the monster not too weak for the strongest player who fought it.

Monster | Clan points |
Regular monster | its level ÷ 5, rounded down (at least 1) |
Notorious monster | 10 times that |

For example, a level 75 monster gives 15 points and a level 75 notorious monster 150.

Points go into one pool the whole clan shares.

Marks: hunting notorious monsters

About 2,300 notorious monsters across 150 field, dungeon and Abyssea areas are marks.

- Kill a mark. Every clan member who gets credit receives a Mark Trophy and an unconfirmed kill of that mark on their record. (Without the launcher's text pack the trophy shows as "??? Box +1". With a full inventory you get no trophy, but the kill stays on your record.)
- Turn it in. Trade Montblanc one Mark Trophy and one item that mark drops, nothing else. The item has to come from a mark you have an unconfirmed kill of. Marks with no drops can't be turned in.
- Get paid in gil, to the player who trades:

Turn-in | Gil |
Any mark | top of the mark's level range × 100 |
This week's bill | × 3 |
The first clan on the server to turn in that bill this week | × 6 |

A level 75 mark pays 7,500 gil, 22,500 as a bill, or 45,000 as the first clan. A clan can turn a bill in again after its first time, at × 3 each time.

Each turn-in also counts 1 hunt for your clan and for you.

Weekly bills

- 12 bills are posted each week, the same for everyone, spread across the level bands up to 30, 31-50, 51-75, 76-90, 91-99 and 100+.
- Elite bills (marks level 90 and up) can only be turned in as a bill by a clan of Vanguard rank or higher. Anyone can still turn the same mark in at the normal rate.
- Bills change every 7 days, at Thursday 00:00 UTC.

Ranks

Your clan's rank needs both its total hunts and its current clan points. Points spent at the Provisioner come off the same total, so spending can lower your rank.

Rank | Hunts | Clan points | Reward per member (gil) |
Moppet | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Hedge Knight | 2 | 700 | 1,000 |
Rear Guard | 4 | 8,000 | 5,000 |
Vanguard | 8 | 20,000 | 10,000 |
Headhunter | 10 | 30,000 | 15,000 |
Ward of Justice | 12 | 40,000 | 20,000 |
Brave Companion | 14 | 100,000 | 50,000 |
Riskbreaker | 16 | 200,000 | 100,000 |
Paragon of Justice | 24 | 250,000 | 125,000 |
High Guardian | 28 | 300,000 | 150,000 |
Knight of the Round | 32 | 500,000 | 250,000 |
Order of Ambrosia | 45 | 1,000,000 | 500,000 |

Each member collects the reward from Montblanc under Rank reward. It pays every rank's reward from the last one you collected up to the clan's current rank. Vanguard also opens elite bills.

The Clan Provisioner

Clan members only. Everything costs clan points from the shared pool; any member can spend them and no rank is needed.

Shelf | Price (clan points) | What's on it |
Furniture | 500 | About 500 pieces, from a Simple Bed to a Royal Bed |
Trusts | 2,000 | 82 trust ciphers |
Mounts | 5,000 | Mount whistles and companion key items |
Pop items | 1,000 | About 1,060 items and key items that spawn an NM or open a battlefield, such as a Black Tiger Fang, a Living Key or a Tuning Fork of Fire |

You need room in your bags as usual, can't buy a Rare item you already hold, and can't buy a key item you already have.
