Alluvion Skirmish
guide · Server guide
Alluvion Skirmish is the harder follow-on to Skirmish, for 1 to 6 players of level 95 or higher in Rala Waterways [U], Cirdas Caverns [U] and Yorcia Weald [U]. Instead of one big map you fight through a chain of floors. Rala and Cirdas end each floor with a Mistmaw carrying Alluvion weapons. Yorcia is a lane battle for Alluvion armour. There is no level sync, and trusts are welcome.
Getting started
- Get a Eudaemon part:4 items: - Eudaemon Blade
- Cape
- Ring
- Sash or Shield
They come from Skirmish coffers.
- Have Oston build you at least one ordinary simulacrum (see Skirmish).
- Talk to Lola at the Goddess's Tears café in Eastern Adoulin (G-8) while you carry the part. She tells you about the Eudaemon.
- Talk to Oston. He agrees to build Eudaemons for you from then on.
Building a Eudaemon
- Trade Oston one Visage, one Faithful's Torso, one pair of Faithful's Legs and one Eudaemon part. You get the area's Eudaemon key item: Rala Eudaemon, Cirdas Eudaemon or Yorcia Eudaemon. The Visage decides the area.
- He charges 100 gil per rank of the Visage, Torso and Legs. The part is free.
- You can carry one Eudaemon per area at a time.
- To take one apart, talk to Oston. When he names your Eudaemon, talk again straight away. You get all four pieces back, so you need four free slots.
Piece | Effect |
Visage | The area, and the grade of the stones in your coffers. As in Skirmish, ranks III-IV can give +1 stones and rank V can give +1 and +2 stones. |
Torso | The time limit (15, 25, 35, 45 or 55 minutes for ranks I-V) and the number of floors. Rala and Cirdas have Torso rank + 1 floors; Yorcia has Torso rank + 2. |
Legs | How many Noetic Ascensions each floor has (Legs rank + 1) and which blessings they give. In Yorcia, more Puissance per floor. |
Eudaemon part | Which notorious monster haunts every floor, and which stones you find more often: Blade for slit stones, Shield for tip, Cape and Ring for dim, Sash for orb. |
Entering
- The leader examines the Augural Conveyor carrying the Eudaemon. The conveyor names its destinations one at a time: Alluvion, Skirmish, or a mission battle. Examine it again straight away to go to the one it just named. Wait a few seconds and examine it again to hear the next.
- Rala Waterways (B-6).
- Cirdas Caverns (H-3).
- Yorcia Weald (I-10).
- The Eudaemon is used up on entry. Every party member in the zone who is level 95 or higher comes along.
How a run works
- You start in a quiet lobby beside a Living Cairn. Examine it, then examine it again straight away, to start the first floor.
- Each floor has a goal. When it is met, a new Living Cairn rises and you choose:
- examine the Cairn twice to go on to the next floor;
- use the key to end the run.
- Clearing the first floor gives everyone a Fenestral Key. Using it ends the run:
- the fighting stops;
- you have 6 minutes left;
- a Treasure Coffer with your name on it appears for each player.
- If time runs out before anyone uses the key, you leave with nothing.
- Noetic Ascensions stand on every floor. Examine one twice to draw on it. It grants a random blessing from the Legs table in Skirmish, or sometimes nothing. Each can be used once.
- The more floors you clear before using the key, the more you take home.
Rala Waterways [U] and Cirdas Caverns [U]: the Mistmaw floors
Each floor ends when its Mistmaw falls. The floor's opening message says how to draw the Mistmaw out:
- Stormy Autochthons: defeat a number of them (more on later floors) and a Mistmaw tears out of the mist.
- Windrender: defeat it to draw out a Mistmaw. It returns if you need more than one.
- Noetic Ascensions: draw on two Ascensions for each Mistmaw. These floors have extra Ascensions.
- Balamor's Adumbration: on rare floors from the second floor on, Balamor's Adumbration waits instead. Defeat it to clear the floor. Better Visages make it more likely.
More details:
- Floors 1 and 2 need one Mistmaw; later floors need two. Up to two extra Mistmaw can be drawn out on a floor, and each extra one adds an item to every personal coffer.
- The Eudaemon's quarry is a notorious monster that appears on every floor, chosen by your Eudaemon part. Defeating it blesses the whole party for the rest of the run.
Part | Rala | Cirdas | Blessing |
Blade | Reaving Craklaw | Aconite Sibilus | Magic Attack up |
Cape | Shambling Matamata | Leering Akoman | Attack up |
Ring | Krabukelevu | Weedwomp Lapinion | Regen |
Sash | Erratic Twitherym | Partizan Wasp | Regain |
Shield | Harmonious Heartwing | Harmonious Heartwing | Defense up |
- Lorissa sometimes waits on a floor. Talk to her twice and she sends you on without that floor's goal. A floor skipped this way adds nothing to your coffers.
- Rala's Autochthons are skeletons, diremites, slimes, acuex, efts, leeches and slugs. Cirdas has mandragora, funguar, worms, spiders, lizards, bats, toads and umbril.
Mistmaw | Area | Weapons it can drop |
Mistmaw Kroni | Rala | Ipetam, Ohrmazd |
Mistmaw Guayota | Rala | Macbain, Inanna |
Mistmaw Leraje | Rala | Claidheamh Soluis, Keraunos |
Mistmaw Tecciztecatl | Rala | Kumbhakarna, Svarga |
Mistmaw Tawhiri | Cirdas | Izuna, Nenekirimaru |
Mistmaw Xelhua | Cirdas | Nehushtan, Olyndicus |
Mistmaw Cacus | Cirdas | Phaosphaelia, Doomsday |
Mistmaw Aatxe | Cirdas | Linos, Svalinn |
Yorcia Weald [U]: the lane
Every floor is a lane with your Marchland at one end and the enemy Stronghold at the other.
- Malicious monsters march down the lane in waves, straight for the Marchland. They grow in number on later floors. You get a warning when the Marchland is hit. If the Marchland falls, the run is lost.
- Break the Stronghold to clear the floor. Only a player's blow can finish it. On a rare floor from the second on, Balamor's Adumbration stands in its place.
- Puissance pays for help. Each floor starts with 1,000, plus 100 for each Legs rank above I. Escalents (elementals, twitherym and fluturini) wander the edges of the lane. Defeat them for more Puissance; the rare acuex Escalent gives 1,000.
- The Ars Monstrum stands by the Marchland. Examine it to hear one page at a time, and examine it again straight away to accept that page. Only one player can read it at a time.
Valiant | Puissance | Strong against | Book level |
Entozoon | 80 | Sirgallyx | 1 |
Colibri | 150 | Snapweed | 1 |
Crab | 160 | Chapuli | 1 |
Coeurl | 200 | Tulfaire | 2 |
Mandragora | 250 | Matamata | 2 |
Scorpion | 300 | Raaz | 2 |
Adamantoise | 350 | Craklaw | 2 |
Tome | 400 | Acuex | 3 |
Ajattara | 500 | Dullahan | 3 |
- Valiants walk down the lane and fight the Malicious monsters. A Valiant fighting the kind it is strong against hits much harder. Up to 5 of one kind can be out at once.
- Levels: the book opens its level 2 pages for 400 Puissance and its level 3 pages for 750.
- One of the Four: for 1,000 Puissance you can call a Valiant Byakko, Suzaku, Seiryu, Kirin or Genbu, depending on your Eudaemon part. Only one can be out at a time.
- Buying Puissance: once per floor the book turns 1,000 Obsidian Fragments into 1,000 Puissance.
- Lorissa sometimes storms onto the lane, and she is not friendly. She cannot be defeated, but if you wear her down she vanishes. That gives Puissance and one more item in every coffer.
- The floor's opening message names the three kinds of Malicious monsters coming, so you can pick your Valiants.
